Guys, i have a little problem.
I have a 66 Belvedere with a 273 in it. I want to swap to 383 and today i wanted to build it in, but surprise....it will not fit the K-Member mounts.
I have these Brackets
Jetuplusllc Big Block 66-72 B-Body 70-74 E-Body Engine Mounts 383 440 for Mopar Dodge : Amazon.de: Automotive

So they look exactly as the Schumacher ones or so. Just BB Brackets. I use the old rubbermounts, because they are the same for SB or BB.

Engine sits way too far right when i fit the driver side mount in its position. Passenger side i hit the mountboss with the block. Not even close to be mounted.

So, is there a different K-Member for SB or BB?? I thought they were all the same SB or BB in 66-70?

I have a big block in my Satellite which originally had a L.A. 318. Still has the 318 "K" member. I used the "C" body {66 Newport} engine mounts which were on the big block.

The problem lies with either the new Chinese brackets, or the old worn out rubber mounts.
Normal hotrodding logic applies. See what is hitting and why, and correct it. Usually a carbide die grinder is the tool of choice.

Sometimes you have to leave the block to bracket bolts a bit loose, so the mounts can find their home

All 66-70 V8 k members are the same. You need the correct big block brackets that bolts to the block.

The engine will sit to the right some.

Here you see what i mean. Driverside is fit and the other side is not possible to mount...

the K frame should be the same in all 66 up V8 applications except Hemi. You need to make sure you have the correct 66-72 BB mounts and you need to make sure they are bolted to the engine in the correct location and side.

I have done this swap lots of times. Big Block steelies with original V-8 rubber insulators. Just bolt them together, and you're good to go. Small block radiator has lower inlet on opposite side of where big block radiator has it. This problem can be fixed easily by using later model big block water pump with inlet on passenger side.

Don't worry, the K-Member isn't the issue here. All V8 K-members from '66 to '70 are identical, doesn't matter if it was a 273 or a 440.

Your problem is almost certainly the brackets. Two things to check:
First, double-check that you haven't swapped them left to right. It happens all the time because they look similar, but the offsets are different. If you flip them, the engine sits way off to the side.
Second, those Amazon knock-off brackets are hit or miss. Sometimes the geometry is just off compared to the real Schumacher ones. But definitely try swapping sides before you buy new ones.

Will check that today. Just try and error.
Read somewhere that the one with the tube attached to the driver side.
Will see
