New member just got a 67 coronet 440 post car. Was a 6 cyl now a 440 727. That conversion was done many many years ago as I understand it.

So is it safe to assume that when that was done the 6 cyl k frame was replaced with a bb k frame ?

I'm asking because I'm on the fence with putting TTI headers in this car and concerned about engine placement in relation to header fitment. TTI has very specific measurements on engine in reference to k frame. I might just go with repop HP manifolds.

Is there a visual difference between the 6 cyl k frame and a BB k frame ?

I can post pics of the k frame in the car if that helps.

Thanks for any help.

I know that in most cars built in 1968 and later, there was a K member for slant six models, one for all V8s and a third one specifically for the Hemi. The V8 version fits the small block and big block models.
The 67 model year K members were unique for A body cars, I suspect B body cars too. The idler arm attached to the K member with stud. Later cars used a bolt through design. If yours has the bolt through version, it may not be the stock K member.

It either had the k frame swapped to a V/8 one, or the mounts were modified. Either way if the TTI measurements are correct you should be good to go. On a side note, all 66,67 V/8 k frames were the same, aside from the hemi.

Aldal thank you very much for that link. I'll take a look tomorrow on the car and see what I'm working with.
