Hi! Is there someone who have tried this knock link g4 out? It would be awesome to have a light that warning for detonation before you can hear them, i suppose this knock link g4 learn the normal sound from the engine and react if their is some abnormal sounds over that. I thinking about try it out becsuse if it work it would be awesome. My engine is a Mopar 493cui stroker, 10,03:1 scr and 8,02:1 dynamic with the xe 275hl camshaft, 231/237@050, edelbrock e-street 84cc, edelbrock avs 800cfm

I have personally never used one but during a discussion with a local engine builder he mentioned that old engines especially if they have forged pistons are to "noisy" for the knock sensor to operate correctly.
I do not know I am just passing on what was told to me.

Hi and thanks for your answer! What i have understand about this new knocklink g4 is that it is self learning, no calibration needed. It is learning the normal sound from the engine, if you have piston slap from forged pistons it is learning thats normal and so on. I have talked to several companys that have this knockliñk g4 and they all say it can be used on any engine, race, street and so on. If thats correct it would be awesome to have one

Sounds like a great piece of kit if it works as well as they say.
Do you really need it on a 10 to 1 engine?
Set up and tuned with the right fuel I would guess your engine would not detonate at all.

No i not really think i need it, i have not hear it knock anything with fuel 98 octan here in Sweden(same your 93 octan), initial timing 16 and 34 full at 3200 rpm. I just think it would be a good thing but maybe not néeded on this engine.

I'd be very interested in one of these too, as I am pretty sure detonation is the root problem of some of the spectacular block and main cap disasters I am seeing. My build has a turbo, and I am worried I won't be able to hear detonation start.

you will not hear the detonation that destroy's your motor
used to use the Carter Ping Eliminator
