I believe this was featured in a Mopar Action magazine...Don't know the exact issue# (sorry about that). Maybe there's some information in the website? -> www.moparaction.com

Just run LED bulbs in the regular sockets. I have them in the Lincoln and its amazing.

Hey "69charger",

Yes, those conversion kits from HiTech are very expensive.

Here is a link to company I ran across; Super Bright LEDS & their 1156 & 1157 replacements high power LED's assemblies. They sell 3 & 5 watt Luxeon lamps, offered in red, white & amber. The 3 watt are $24 & the 5 watters are $30. They say these are the "brightest LED tail light bulbs on the market, brighter than stock" All these plug right into your 1156 or 1157 sockets. Click on the "see prices & buy now" icon at the top right of the page for photos & more info.

They also sell lower output LED 1156 & 1157 bulbs with LED counts ranging from 12 to 30 LEDs per bulb. I would think the more LEDs the brighter the output in the case of these lesser brightness LED bulbs.

Think I will go with the 3 or 5 watt versions myself, when I buy.

With any LED replacements ask the seller if they think you will need a "Load Equalizer" to increase the electrical load so you flasher will actually blink them. Find the "Please read before ordeing..." section & the part about brightness
between filament & LED's bulbs. Depending on several factors, even the 3 & 5 watt LEDs may not seem as bright as the old standard 1156 & 1157 filament bulbs...
