Leaf Springs

Bought a new set of leaf springs for our '75 Charger but we are having trouble tightening them down with the U Bolts, there doesn't seem to be enough room to put the nuts on the U Bolts, what are we doing wrong?

If the new springs have more leaves, therein could be your problem, but as requested, pictures would be helpful.

I have a good bit of that going on with me as well.. it happens. wrong alinement with leafs maybe! Old age sucks....
