Brand new distribution block leaks from the top fitting-see pics. I removed the top fitting and replaced the “crush washer”from Napa. STILL leaks, not a lot but leaks. I called a supplier (the right stuff) asked if they had replacement washers, as the Napa was not perfect size, but said they didn’t sell separately. Anyone else have this issue? Is there a “better block”? Is there a better seal that would work?

I was trying to figure out what car you had. I just bought a new block and all the fittings on it are just like my old one, all female. The top fitting on mine is for the line coming from master,I believe it’s 1/2”. I didn’t have to remove anything and no washers.

Any pics? Brand? Isn’t your top fitting a “hex” nut with crush washer underneath it? Its where the line from MC goes…

This is the old block, new one just like it. That line went to master.

Ok, I just noticed this from the Dr.diff site and not sure what to make of it. These pics are from the same page .

Is that where you bought new one?
Is yours for power front disc, rear drum?
Thanks

I THINK your black & white pic is a block with porportioning valve, which is what i have now

Well as Gilda used to say, Oh, that’s different. Never mind. Drum all the way around no power. (Yeah, Dr. Diff is where I got it)

I had a replacement distribution block on my Dart, it wouldn't stop leaking from that top fitting from the master. The hole was drilled and tapped at an angle, so, junk. Take a close look at yours and see if that is your issue. Chinesium.

I had a new proportioning valve leaking from the top fitting as you described. New washer didn't stop the leak. I finally had to put a light coating of sealant on both sides of the washer and that sealed it. I was careful not to get much on it to prevent squeezing out and into the brake system. So far, it's okay.

What sealant did you use?

I keep thinking it was The Right Stuff. Black. Very thin coating. A silicone adhesive would work also. Any sealant not affected by brake fluid.
