I have to post a correction. That earlier picture of the five carb intake was for an early Oldsmobile (1949-1964) engine. This is the similar Pontiac version:


Briggs Cunningham used a similar set up on his Cadillac engine when he drove his Le Monstre in the 24 hour Le Mans in 1950. There was, of course, no such thing as a four barrel carb back in 1950.
