Let's post some fun stuff here

The old comedians just kicked butt compared to the younger ones, and they had class. I really get a kick out of RD!

Do you know what the grape said to his dad on Father’s Day ?

Thanks for raisin me right…

First day out this year on the boat and I dropped my oldest fishing rod right in the lake! :cursin: I still haven't gotten over it and I probably never will.
Well, that sucks! Get yourself a grapple and go drag for it. You might get lucky.

In around 1979 my Dad & I were fishing the Juniata River near Duncannon, PA. He walked off to take a pee. His rod took off into the river, probably a large carp. That was I believe March. FF to August, walking in the river fishing and I stepped on something that didn't feel like a stick. Take a deep breath, dive, and see what it is... Dad's fishing rod! Got the sucker back! There may be hope.

Dang....might be time for some scuba lessons. I really hope you get that thing back. We want a picture if you do!
:xscuseless:

When I was 16 I worked on my cousin's farm, mostly bailing hay and I saved up enough money to get a new fishing rod. Went to Woolsworth and bought a fiberglass Shakespeare with a spinning reel. I've had it all this time until...well you know :(

That’s heartbreaking :(

That is so sad. I still have my Father’s rod, tackle going back to probably the 30’s. Now days no one wants to use a level wind that have to use your thumb to control.
My wife still will use her father’s rod and reel to bring lake trout up 90 feet.
I used my Skilcast that my parents gave me in 1956 for my birthday. I was so happy I spent hours casting with a lead weight in the yard.
In 70’s and later we took our children and friends to a secluded spot on a lake back home 200 miles away with friends on the long weekend in May.
Very primitive, nailed a branch between two trees and dug a hole under neath for a latrine.
Our oldest son mentioned about 15 years ago, it was hard to perch on the branch and do your business with your feet off the ground.
We were trolling in about 12 feet. I caught something very hard pull, not much action. Brought the boat back, turned out that I caught the front eyelet of a rod with a Zebco 202 reel. The rod had scales on it, so it had been there for years. The reel still worked.
I took it to the local wholesale distributor just to show them the reel worked.
To my surprise they said they wanted it for display and gave me a nice 404 and rod.
Hope you can find yours someday.
