Sorry.....but as your Avitar's tag line states......"if it ain’t broke, fix it till it is"........I guess a similar philosophy....but it depends on one's view point.........

Your rebuilder must have installed a new STATOR windings. The rotor supplies the power to the stator windings which are AC, which then are RECTIFIED by the diodes to DC ....perhaps you must have misunderstood the repairs...possibly diodes were replaced as well.....fyi......

I'd vote for diodes as well. 90% of the alternator low output problems I've encountered in the last 50-plus years have been diode issues.
