i am looking at a 73 charger for sell. what are somethings that i really need to be looking at to tell if it is worth the buy? what are somethings to look out for or to look at to see if there is anything wrong?

thanks for your time

The more complete the better since these years recieve little aftermarket attention.

Rust on the inner frame rails front and back, tortion bar cross member/anchor areas, rear wheel housings and trunk extention panels. (AKA rear 1/4's outside and insides) trunk openings and underside front hlaf/rerar tabs of trunk lid.

Missing trim parts

Again, the more complete the better.

Rust on A pillars especially if it had a vinyl top.

Look close at the front frame rails near the "donut" K frame isolators, including the "fish plate" reinforcing metal.

Rust on door corners and lower door well area of quarters.

Pretty sure that's a 73-74 thing.

I just forget when the ISO suspension came in. On my '73 Cuda, it's all old school.

I don't think E bodys ever changed, just Bs.

71-74 Charger is one of those body styles that seems to either rust completely, or not hardly at all. 70-71 Torino and 73-76 Mone Carlo same way. You hardly ever see any of those with "moderate" rust.

Rust

If the car has any rust through at all then i would probably pass, because if the rust is bad enough that it has eaten through then the whole car probably has cancer. Also major body work is a time eater. pictures would definatly help

also look in the trunk around the wheel housing.

Check all the things posted above, the corners of the cowel mine are rusted right through, and the base of the trink behind the rear bumper. aslo check under the rear seat in the corners and the bottom corners of the firewall under the fenders
