Hello All,

I've reached a point I need some additional experience diagnosing why my motor will not idle well and requires more base timing. Looking for a trusted mechanic that knows these old cars. I have a 67 charger with what appears to be a stock 440 motor. Much appreciated.

It's probably to far for you but in Mt Airy MD there is a shop called Chewys Performance. They have a great reputation.
They have a Facebook page with info, check them out

Thank you for that - I will check them out.

Any shop within range of the DMV area will work as long as they have a good reputation so I appreciate the endorsement.

get a vacuum gauge. I'm a self taught shade tree, but adjust the idle screws and timing until you get the most vacuum your motor can make. Hopefully, better mechanics will chime in

Thank you I appreciate it. That’s a very good chart I’ve seen different versions of but there is something off with this motor and I need my diagnostics verified.

It’s not the knowledge or the tools I’m missing. It’s experience.
