lowering the back end

going to lower the back end of 65 sate. was going to de arch the springs ,about 1 inch but if i don't like how it sits I'm screwed money wasted. thinking about using spring lowering blocks first before i comment on the dearching.anybody try them blocks.don't won't to reverse my front spring brackets either. any suggests? thanks
 
I used blocks on mine, I like the stance a little better.

I had a 46 Plymouth with 6 inch lowering blocks and air shocks. Car road hard, never got the suspension right. Looked good lowered though.
 
You could start with a 1" lowering block to see if that's the desired height but anything over 2" and you may have drive shaft/floor interference issues. What size tires are you running? You could also go with a lower profile and jack up your torsion bars to get the same effect.
