Here are some pics
1-12" 3/8-24 threaded rod cut to length
1 - 3/8"-24 female Heim
2 x 2 x 2 x 3/16" tubing
10" x 2" x 1/4" thick Mild steel
2 shock bumpers
3/4 x 8 x 1/4"
Got $13 in it

Make the top that hooks to motor mount bolt the bent far enough down to clear motor mount bolt so you can put it in

The bottom plate fit it to K member then figure angle and cut tubing weld on then cut out bottom plate under square tubing.

Looks good. I don't think bending is much of an issue with a torque strap if the angles are right.
 
Go to a bolt house and get grade 8 rod not the normal grade 3 rod

No bending unless you do a burnout in reverse! That is why you use a hiem at top so it can pivot not bend
It's a Grade 5 should be no problem, has pressure on it, will take 120,000 at least before breaking.

Yes, the engine is pulling against the rod, not pushing against it.............................MO
 
That 120000 figure is per square inch I believe. The actual area of that rod is far less than that.
 
Thats very nice indeed. Myself I use a solid steel drivers side eng mount and a piece of chain for back-up. Ron
