Hello ...

Just found the Engine code "site" ... and now I have a little fear ! Because my Code is like that ...

E ( 1969 ) 440 ( cui ) MALTESE CROSS ( 0.001 " under main journals ! ) 10 ( ? ) 4 ( ? ) HP ( High performance)

The thing is... I replaced my Timing chain... with a "standart " cloyes chain set.... but I think the chain is "too long " now...

Am I right ?? or should I leave it this way??

Thank you for a good advise....

Greetings Juergen

If you have a block that was align honed the chain can get a little loose. A little wiggle is OK but if you are approaching 1/2" play with a new chain I'd say you need to look at a chain tensioner (because the new chain will stretch and have more play). Or get a new chain designed for blocks there were align honed.

...there was a Little wiggle, when I renewed the chain... 1/ 4 of an Inch... I would say.. but in case...where can I buy such a Special Chain ??

Thanks
Juergen

I would start by emailing Cloyes or one of the well known engine shops.
