I decided to remove my exhaust manifolds for a good clean up and sand blast on my 72 satellite. It appears that I have two very different styles of manifolds. The left one (#3671595-2) looks like a HP manifold and has approx. a 2.5 inch outlet. The right one (#2899876) looks like a standard manifold, it had a heat riser valve but i removed it and it only has a 2 inch outlet. I cant find a date code on the right manifold but the HP left manifold date jives with my cars build date (Aug 71). My question is, does anyone know if either of these manifolds is correct for my car (72 SSP with a 400 2BBL from factory) and did Ma Mopar really send cars out with this manifold combo. Also does it hurt the engine to drive with one larger outlet than the other side(exhaust imbalance?) Note: the car seems to run great as it is.
