I have a '72 charger and am looking to convert the manual windows to power ones, how would I go about it? Is there a kit I can buy? That would make things a lot easier, if not I am not a novice to wiring and playing with switches, I'm doing a restomod so I'm not worried about originality. I'm just tired to being too short to reach the windows on the other side of the car haha

There are aftermarket kits, but they are somewhat pricey and have generic or GM style switches. I am finding that A- Mopar put out a fair ammount of 71-74 B bodies with p/w (so you might score a set of doors with p/w for the same or less than those kits), and B- it appears that the p/w motors didn't change that much from say 66 through the 80s.

Do a google search for 'Autoloc power window kit'. I helped someone install a kit and it was really nice because it used the original window cranks to activate the window. The kits show up at a number of suppliers. The one I worked on was for a Dart and we only did the doors at that time.

I have a pair of '71 r/t doors I plan on using, so I'd rather not buy a whole nother set. As far as originality goes I'm not worried about "gm style" switches, I'm putting a custom center console in which I wanted to mount the switches in, so originality is gone. I also was hoping to be able to do all 4 windows, in addition to the front ones. Thanks for the responses guys!

Correct. My understanding is that the same switches and components were used across the entire car and truck line through mid-late 80's.

I have a complete dash wiring harness all the way back to the windows and switches that were from my 72 Road Runner. These are driver quality switches and do have some pitting. If interested in it just PM me here with your email address and I will shoot you pics of what I have. I also have 2 extra motors, so you would have to find 2 additional motors.

Do you know which kit they used? I am wondering if I could make this work on all 4 windows, including the rear 1/4, on my 73 Road Runner clone...seems like an elegant solution to a PITA problem.
