Matching Numbers

hello all,

i'm a newbee to the site. i did a quick search on threads that help you identify original drivetrain, ie block #, Certi Card, Vin, Bld sheet etc but did not find one. I am going to look at a 1966 Coronet Hemi w/727 and need to 'check the numbers' to ensure everything lines up. It does not have Govier certification, but the current owner shows a certification from Dodge. I’ve discovered a few sites that provide fender tag info, but would like to understand where to find the Engine Block #, and how it corresponds to the VIN etc. Appreciate any insight.
