Max Wedge Trivia...

OG.. I"m still amazed at how great and original your 64 is...

POST BY Anselmi: Would there be any demand for a 1963 Plymouth Max Wedge Borg Warner 3 speed? it has attached the Hurst 3 speed shifter less the handel-lever. I know for sure it is legit.

The 1963 Plymouth and Dodge Max Wedge cars (Manual trans) came with a 3-speed manual trans because the 4-speed could NOT handle the power/abuse.
The 1964 cars used the "New" Borg Warner T-10s
I believe the 63 4 speeds were the T-10 and 64 was the first 833...........................................MO

looking for info on color of the pinion snubber brk. after the mod. It looks to have been nat.

62 sf max wedge. thanks.

Aluminium front ends, I was told there was a total of 50 only for 63 Plymouth. Is this correct ?

They actually made 50 aluminum front ends for the 63 Plymouth as they sold 40 Plymouths in 63 with the aluminum front end and put 10 of the aluminum front ends in the parts depot. They only sold the aluminum front end parts as the whole front end kit. Ron

Just found this thread..great one .. and thanks.

How about breathers and pcv's?

I've lookd at hundreds of pics on the internet and can't figure them out.

1-Some pics show two breathers/no pcv.....what years are like that?

2-Some pics show a pcv on passenger side....again, what year did they use pcv?

3-Was the pcv a "California-only" thing?

Now, on to the pcv itself.........

1-Some pics show the pcv with the black, steel 1/4" tube...it a 90degree elbow about three inches length.

2-Some pic show a brass fitting, 90degree.

I was told the tubing-type is a 1965/hemi part and is actually incorrect......but often used because it's easy to get and still looks right.

How about a hood to radiator seal on 62 Savoy Max Wedge? Was there a rubber attached to the hood? i have been told there was a skinny one for small block and wide one for Big Block? So was there a hood to radiator seal on 1962 Savoy Max Wedge? Anyone know for sure? There are 8 punched hole in the hood, i am told this is for a hood to radiator support rubber seal.

Thanks
