Well,
I ordered
this http://www.4secondsflat.com/Mopar Mechanical timing limiter plate.htm
in an attempt to fine tune the 318 in my little 67. I am not too sure it will be the be all, end all.
Im having a hell of a time getting the balancer to read the numbers are so hard to see. Gonna get some timing tape also.
Right now I think I have
15 degrees initial (vacuum off)
39-40 degrees total all in at 3,000
With the vacuum on and manifold vacuum it cleans up the idle well and reads about 22 degrees initial at idle.
I want to limit the total timing for no more than 32-34 degrees so that I can set my initial to 18 with the vacuum advance off, then add in 14-16 degrees using that limiter plate, all in about 3,000 rpm.
Then ill get to tuning the vacuum advance canister for part throttle.
Anyone use one of these? Success?
