Now THAT brings back a memory... we were on Barro Colorado, the island in the canal, doing survival training, and after 4 days of bananas, papayas, coconuts, mangoes, etc... I wanted some MEAT! They had shown us what was edible, but all we had were edged instruments, stuff to make snares, M-16's & Blanks... hmmmm.... bout 4 shots with blanks and cleaning rods and this Howler monkey that had been keeping us awake came tumbling outta the tree. We dressed it, made us one of the required spits out of two "Y" sticks, and started rotisserie monkey. The more we looked at it, the more it looked like about a 4 year old child... we started wondering if we could eat it or not. (It was tasty :grin: )

I did luck out with a tour in Hawaii where I finally finished my degree
Retired in 96.....Would I do it again?...In A Heart Beat!!!!!!!!!!!

6 month Deployment to Bosnia late 90s.
1 year Deployment to Afghanistan in 2005, my last hurrah before dropping my retirement papers in 2006.
Currently Taking advantage of the VA's Vocational Rehabilitaion Program going to college since 2008 and have one semester left till I receive my Bachelors Degree.
