Military Toy Commercials 1960's

Things have changed, and not for the better. If you saw someone with that gun now, the SWAT team would be your next visiter. Innocence has left the building.........

A better time & kids could be anything they want
not some kid never outside, always sitting on their asses
in some not well lit area, basement playing video games, or on Social Media
on some dang cell phone,
We all lived outside from 1st sunlight till dark & later, playing or riding etc.
not the nonsense of today

I had a lot of the GI Joe & Johnny West stuff, 'action figures'
what can I say I had 5 sisters, they were not dolls :poke:
my step dad was in the Army National Guard still...

had a crap-load of Hot-Wheels cars & tracks etc.
before that, it was Tonka, heavy equipment & trucks

Had all the Roy Rogers,
'Red Rider' western gear lever (like a model 92) action riffle,
Chrome plastic Colt pistol, leather (plastic) holster etc., chaps, vest & hat
shot plastic bullets

all the Evel Knievel stuff jump & power strip stuff
& remote gas/Nitro power prop planes & cars on tethers
was before e the remote control era

even a Tesco (?) Electric Guitar,
when I was like 10, I played until I got into HS
wasn't cool to me anymore, I didn't want to be like the hippies...
then,
I was into Taco 22 2.5 hp, then Taco 44 5 hp, mini-bikes, then go-carts
& them motorcycles/dirt bikes, MX stuff until I got into cars/4x4s

also at like 9-10 I was mowing yards, $2 front & $3 back
all around the neighborhood
to be able to buy a $98 bike, plus all the options, was another $20
the Metallic Green, Pea Shooter, Schwinn stingray 5 speed shifter, style bike
with ram-horn handle bars, slick on the rear, wheelie limiters
& metalflake green banana seat
& a tall sissy bar was my favorite, not as much a toy as a lifestyle :poke:

that looks like me, could've been, but it's not
it is the style of bike, it was an Orange Crate, mine was more decked out
every option
