not those, I just used the same starter out of my 94 Dakota....works great...go to auto parts store and get one there...NAPA or whoever you got close

When I was getting my original rebuilt, I threw in a hi-torque mini starter temporarily. Worked fine. I just had to monkey with the terminals a little to get it to fit.

Is that definitely Chinese?? I run a similar looking mini starter, but mine is definitely made in Japan. There is a difference
No problems after approx 16 years.

Yeah , Made in China. That's why I'm asking. I burned up a Super Starter , and this thing looks cheap cheap cheap...

$20.00 from the local salvage yard mid 90s pickup.I'll take a OEM one any day over that chink crap

Yeah , I hear ya. I'm not going to even chance it. it's too much work to change. Bad enough it's way out back and I have to pull it through the mud to get it in the Main garage. :angryfire:

Thanks for the info , Will the starter out of a 94 Dakota fit a 440 ?

yes....just get one from a parts store with a warranty

be careful with one from a wrecking yard...the biggest issue with these little starters is the contact points inside, they go out without warning. I had two mini starters here, I took both to repair shop, they said the winding's & armature were good, but the contact points inside were bad. He replaced both sets and charged me $20

I run the stock Mopar mini starter on my 15-1 572 with locked out 34 degrees advance. Never an issue.

I run a DENSO I got from Dave @ Roseville. on my hemi..... no issues!

Friend of mine just installed one from Auto Zone, $68/$69.00, on a 340, in a Dodge pickup. It turns it over great! I'm using one on my 360 stroker motor in my Dart Sport the past 3 years...been doing an excellent job so far. No complaints....at least not yet.

I've been using the same 2 mini's for the past 12 years on mine with no problems. I got one I'll sell you for $50, where in the Delta, you see where I'm at?

Thanks, I already bought one based on previous responses, I just haven't had time to put it in yet.

Yup Denso !!... there the best plus they make them for big company's like M.S.D i have seen them for about $160.00

I have a small starter in my 66 Satellite, to help clear TTI Headers. Does not say where it was made on it. But I got it at Summit. It's normally aspirated 493 (689HP-675LbFt) and have never had any problems cranking it!

same here, works awesome...

and all those starters that are bought from Mancinni, Jegs, Summit, and other high priced parts houses is the same starter you can get from NAPA or any other parts house for 1/4 the price and a local warranty

No mini's for me, the sound of the old starters take me back ...

No offence, but that sucks! Not that you haven't had time to put it in yet, but for not buying mine. Good Luck, I know you'll be happy with it.
