Mirror repair??

The remote control drivers side mirror on my car has a broken cable, is it something that can be repaired or is it trash? The chrome is perfect but the head just flops around.

The guts can be changed out.
I've done this several times.

I've never had good luck repairing a cable assembly, but I hear it can be done.

Do I just find one that is pretty much junk on the outside but has good cables?

Yep, nice , tight ugly ones are much easier to find, than nice, tight pretty ones.

Hardest thing is getting a screwdriver on the screws behind the glass.

Careful not to strip the heads, or you might be done.

Then I guess the next step is to try to find an ugly one..shouldn't be much of a problem...anyone have one???
