I see a lot of adds on facebook for a Montana Title for $300. Has anyone ever did this? Or is it a scam?
Thanks

that's strange,The Pumpkin had a title dated in 1979 from Oklahoma signed over to someone in 1980 with no chance of finding the guy. Sent the paperwork to Maine title with a police verification and received a Montana title in my name. Easily transferred it to a Sc title. Was about $650 to get done.
The buyer pays sales tax, the seller pays income tax. They charge the buyer a sales tax and the seller?
A lot of people are doing this. Here in Michigan say you buy a RV. The state charges the price of plates on the original sales price with some discount. It’s still like $1500. Then you pat 6 % in sales tax on your purchase. And yes when you sell it they want to charge you state income tax on how much you sold it for. They say that’s all good and legal. If you start an LLC in Montana it’s roughly $1000. Then you register your RV wth the LLC. No sales tax or $1500 plate/year. Montana plates are $50 a year. You be the judge.
