Most Stupid Songs of the 1970's

Two categories to me. Stupid ones like these.
Dead Skunk In The Middle Of The Road - Loudon Wainwright III
Muskrat Love - Captain & Tenille
Da Doo Ron Ron - Sean Cassidy (this was a remake of earlier song)

Or ones I thought turned stupid/irritating by being overplayed like these.
Convoy - C.W. McCall
Grease - Frankie Valli

"Ring My Bell" by Anita Ward

Mr Jaws

King Tut

Considering all they great songs of the 70’s I didn’t realize how many stupid songs there were. Oh yeah now I remember what was going on in the 70’s :fool:

Anything by The Captain and Tenille, Olivia Newton John, or Neil Sedaka. But tie a yellow ribbon round the ole oak tree gives me a rash.

Water tower,
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

However, some of the best rock came from the 70s......
But a lot of that decade was a blur:rolleyes:

Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks. It’s a song about dying that makes me want to put a gun in my mouth.
The aforementioned Disco Duck. Most, but not all disco. The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack had some well crafted disco songs. I’m a metal guy, in case you are wondering.

When I was a kid I had convoy on a 45, I wore that thing out playing it over and over.....untill my sisters would tell me to turn it off for a while:lol:
