Lived it, suffered it - but NEVER, I mean NEVER, accepted any disco. Period.
Ok, I'll play. Here's a few I can add to the already great list you all have got going:
1. "Loving You" - Minnie Riperton
(The one where she hits that high note only dogs can hear...)
2. "Feelings" - Morris Albert
Feelings! Woah woah woah FEELINGS! *gag*
3. "You Light Up My Life" - Debbie Boone
Could they possibly have played a song more on the radio at the time?
I wound up wanting to light up HER life towards the end...
4. "You're Having My Baby" - Paul Anka
No. No, I'm not, Paul....
5. "The Morning After" – Maureen McGovern
There's got to be a mornin' afterrrr - well yeah, they had more disaster movie
sequels to do, after all....
The list goes on, but I do want to make note of a common thread to ALL these songs:
They all were performed by actual human beings, often accompanied by other actual
humans playing actual musical instruments - sans any Autotune or PC wizardry and NOT
recorded digitally.
There's something to be said for that.
