Hi all :)

After a long journey originating last December in Manhattan Beach, LA, my car was shipped via Auckland and landed here in Melbourne. After clearing customs and quarantine on Friday, I finally took delivery of my Petty Blue '72 318ci Satellite Sebring!!

She fired up first turn of the key and I drove her the 100 odd miles to my brothers resto workshop where the old girl will get some TLC before gracing the local sunny streets. Not having driven a Mopar in over 15 years, I was surprised at how well she handled. I only had 24 hours with the car before I had to return home, but we got a little done in that time.

It feels great to have another project after many years of only using metric spanners.....looking forward to getting my hands dirty.

Cheers,

Mr G

MR. Gorsky, You have taken a fine mature lady away from the land of her birth and transplanted her to a land where her relatives have odd names and there is only an occasional expatriate to associate with. I believe you have a responsibility to love and care for her, treat her with respect and make her happy! So I ask you what are your intentions, are they honorable? The Mopar community needs progress photos to assure us that she's being properly cared for. In the future please don't refer to her as an "old lady", it lacks the proper respect of a lady with her standing in the Mopar nation.......Lol, I wish you the best of luck with your project, Brian.

Nice car and good luck with your project! Ill be watching. Mine's a 72 also and I decided not to clone it, just leave it s she was born a SSP. Its funny...people know Roadrunner and GTX names but always ask whats a Sattellite..."Who made it" "Plymouth?" "Really?"

lol, there are a few USA built Mopars here and there over here....she won't be too lonely!! My intentions are honorable, I can assure you of that...watch this thread!! No more old lady, copy that :).

Satellite's were unknown to me, I'll happily admit that! Back in the day I read Mopar Action and Mopar Muscle, Satellite's were never featured. In the nineties there were very few US Mopars on local roads. E bodies make up the bulk of US built cars I see here now, B bodies come a very distant second.

that's going to be some fun ,nice looking 72 love Petty Blue :headbang:

Good luck Mr Gorsky...

Mr Gorsky is a happy chappie. Look what I found behind the rear seat back.

Haven't finished looking yet. Anyone know if multiple sheets are commonly found in St Louis cars??

Think yourself lucky to find one! ;) Nice project....keep the pics flowing and the enthusiasm will remain high. :hello2:

Looks like a cool start, there can't be a lot of mopars rolling around down in Australia

Plenty left to do :)

Got new carpet, new Legendary front seat trim, new headliner, new armrest pads, new AMD door hinges, new dash pad, new rear parcel shelf, new rubber stopper kit, new battery tray, new engine harness, new indicator switch, new trunk seal, new leather tuff wheel, new RR exhaust tips, new AMD rear valance, Phoenix stripe kit, emblems.....plus full body repaint to do.

Need to do brakes, fit two sway bars, chase up and fit my free PST front end kit (go Pats, thanks PST!!), replace the shocks, pull and clean up the engine, do a transmission service, rip the dash out and rewire (ammeter is wired backwards, fuel gauge doesn't work), rebuild the heater box, get the aircond working on R134, find two more broadcast sheets lol, get a full new exhaust system fitted....and fix up all the screwed up stuff I have yet to find out about.

Gunna be fun. I'm really looking forward to tearing into it!!

Spent another few days on the car this week.

Found a second fender tag for my car under the drivers side front carpet: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?88166-Found-under-my-carpet-! Rapt with that find!!

Only a little surface rust under the carpets....wire brushed and treated it with rust converter. New carpets sitting in place to settle and get some wrinkles out, final fitment next week. Front bench seat will get it's new Legendary skin next week too, I hope. Found over $16 and a lighter inside it, lol:

Had a very nice air cleaner generously donated by my favorite brother. Need to get a new decal, or convince everyone my car has a special order small block 440 :)

The last car I took on as a project, when I started stripping out the interior. I found close to $50 IN CHANGE, I still have a large Zip Lock bag full of change from all the cabinets and boxes in my garage. One of these days I'll run it down to the store with it and see how much it turns out to be
