Just rebuilt 383 and went with a new MSD distributor, has anybody else ran this distributor and if so what are your comments

I've run one in my 400 for a year without issue.

My question to you, if I run a new MSD blaster 2 coil with it, do I need to use the ballast resistor, I would think you would not need it now

No resistor at all. It will take the 14.5 volts i give it without issue

66bel, call MSD or get on web site, all the answers are there and you need to read them! I have both kinds on our cars but I do like the adv. canister on the street driven car. good luck

X2 on no ballast. MSD loves voltage!

Thanks everybody, my 383 is 30 over with .494-lift cam with good aftermarket 1.5 rockers, steel crank and recondition rods with ARP Bolts with new Edelbrock dual plane intake**pictures of car to follow soon if I can figure out this new Samsung# 5 which I hate

I run one on my 383...works great, no need for the ballast resistor.

Thanks again, just sent pictures of car will engine out, did some detailing, engine and tranny going in this Saturday, it's going to be a warm day 40 degree's
