Now that the Ranchero is back on the road after some minor rust repair I can get back on the 69 RR  I swear I'm going to drive this car someday!!

This turned out to be a good place to mount the MSD box me thinks. I made a replacement back plate with an extra mounting lug and managed to pick up existing holes. The slotted holes near the radiator happen to match the MSD perfectly and it's all held together with 1/2" nylon standoffs and 1/4-20 screws.

The way the wiring fit you would think this was planned by the factory. I ran the main power to the starter relay (just because I hate a bunch of lugs hanging off the battery post) plus it seems to blend in better, especially with the ground piggy backing on the headlight harness. At the point where both wires come together I used a braided nylon sheath and continued under the radiator tank to the box. All connection splices are soldered and sealed with the glue type heat shrink. On the top of the box you can see how the MSD wiring will fold right in to the engine harness using the factory retainers.
