Hey Guys.
Had my Coronet running fine for a short time, and suddenly shut off. Turned out to be the magnetic pickup trigger inside the MSD 6al. Had it repaired and 10 minutes after I had it running it suddenly shut off again. Tested the box, same issue. The white wire (points trigger) still would fire the box, but the purple and green would not. I saw a post from 2010 with the same problem, but no answer. Any ideas? Motor is well grounded with battery cable to the frame.
Thanks

Make sure your reluctor gap is correctly set - think 8-10 thou was the measurement. If the reluctor or pickup plate are moving around, you will have problems. I found out after much trouble, that I had a bad distributor. Replaced with an Accel unit and problem solved.

I will check that. it's a new firecore distributor. but I will take a look. what problem did you have? was your box shorting out also?

No, mine was a non-starting issue, and irregular cut-out at the worst possible time. Crappy MoPar look-a-like distributor made of Chinesium.
