Muffler Dave's

I reached out to Muffler Daves (32216 Michigan Ave, Wayne, MI 48184) where some PO took my car to have the exhaust done probably back in the 80's. They are now under new ownership. Does anyone know the original owner? And yes, Daves not here man...



Here's the back story:

Apparently the 3 POs ago (I'm the 4th) and quite possibly the 3rd PO was the original owner who's name was Jim. Jim was a toolmaker, who worked at one of the Dodge plants. Apparently, Jim's son took the car out & ripped out the exhaust system going over some RR tracks. The exhaust system was redone but the pipes went under the rear axle not over it, so he took it to a place called Dave's Exhaust over on Michigan Ave to be redone correctly.

I have heard of and driven by that place many times over the years. I have never done business with them though as I do all my own work. I believe Dave himself is no longer with us.

Man that sucks but probably explains why they don't own it anymore.

Guess I'll never be able to get to find out if they knew who brought my car there...
