My Bee has color!!!

Nicely done! I think you'll be glad you repainted the engine compartment.

Car is looking great!

Thank you to everyone who replied. It’s been a long restoration. Feels good to have it in paint and having parts arrive to start reassembly.

Yes, looks great! Glad you re-shot the offending panels. Are you going to
start assembling it or color sand & buff first?

Lol, I laugh because my initial thought is start assembly. It actually came out very good. I had another member advise me to put the clear on exactly how you want it to Look. For the most part it came out that way. I figure I could always cut and buff the exterior even once it’s back together.

True, you can do it after the car is back together. But in my experience, I have found it easier to do before you start to assemble. That way you have less things on the car that you will have to clean the compound off of. Because it will slinged all over the place.

I'm assembling mine first. No side marker lights. I want the clear to get
nice and hard . I installed the taillights, Deck lid hinges and torsion bars.
Putting in the Kilmat in the passenger compartment. Next is the heater
box and brake linkage. Chomp, chomp, chomp!

As noted here in my restoration thread. I had my car mostly together, still driving it on a milk crate for a seat, when I took it back to the painter for cut and polish a FULL year after paint. How he likes it, clear nice and hard to do his magic.

There are cases where the wrong order will give you headaches though!
