Hey guys - just introducing myself here on the B Body site. I have been a member over at the A body site (FABO) for years, as well as Moparts. I have a couple of A bodies, but just picked up this Belvedere II wagon. It is an old drag car a local guy raced back in the 80's / 90s. He passed away in 2008, and the car has been tucked away since in the hands of a couple different owners.

Anyway, it has a '69 440 / 727 combo, and I'm just going through fuel system and brakes to get it back running and driving again. I'm going to leave it looking like an old drag car, and will try to get it in the low 13's, high 12's. (My '67 Barracuda runs mid 10's - so I plan to leave this one a little milder)

Thanks!
-Jeff

Welcome to FBBO from Ontario. Have fun with your wagon project. Thanks for your pictures. Here is a '67 Coronet wagon I used to have. Same car; two versions.

One thing that surprised me is that these wagons arent really any larger than the sedans. Because of the roofline, the car looks huge, but the wheelbase isnt any different. I have never had a classic wagon before, so this wasnt something I had experience with. Heck, this car isnt much bigger than my '67 Barracuda or '70 Dart.

Cool Wagon, I have a soft spot for a few wagons/long roofs

Welcome to the Dark Side Jeff!

I'm liking your long roof

A dual master cylinder in the future to match the dual carbs?
Funny you say that - yes. I have one ready to go. Whats the best way to remove the single pot unit? Should I pull that entire plate off the firewall? I was surprised to see that the single pot seems to have studs facing inward to the car. My A-bodies have always had the master mounting studs on the firewall facing under the hood.

Do you also plan on putting disc's up front? If so Dr Diff can hook you up with the needed pieces.
