Greetings,
I have owned '67 Camaros (and a '67 Cougar) but Monday I put earnest money down on my first Mopar and I'm picking it up this afternoon! The planets aligned and I bit the bullet when my friend sent me an ad he'd found for a 1968 Charger only a little over an hour from my house. The 383 four barrel and the 727 trans are long gone, along with most of the AC hardware (the condenser is still there) but it is otherwise complete and has surprisingly little rust. The original Metallic Burgundy paint is evident everywhere and the vinyl top is mostly a memory. I don't know anything about Mopars - except I've always wanted a '68 Charger. I still can't believe it's mine! Now I need to sell the Camaro - but I feel way more excited about the Charger. I've had the Camaro for 30 years, but all I see when I look at it is "work". The Charger speaks to me on so many levels - an unapologetic MUSCLE car that just happens to be beautiful. I'm looking forward to being a Mopar Man and will be hitting you up for your knowledge and support! I guess the first thing to do is find PDFs of assembly manuals, owner manuals, ? I also need an affordable running 383 (or440) and 727 trans in the northwest.......
Can you recommend any books or sites for learning about Mopar motors or what I should be reading first?
Thanks!
