Hi guys, I just picked up a 1964 Dodge Polara 500 convertible from my neighbor. It is a one owner car that has not been on the road since 1973. The good is its a one owner 54k mile, original paint (rough) survivor with the original 383 that was rebuilt in 1993. Floor and trunk pans are solid. The bad thing is it did eight Michigan winters before its long rest so its got some rust here and there I am going to try to get this old girl back on the road again.

here are a few pics of how I found it and the original owners.

Nice. Cool story too. Good luck!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I got to clean it up some today. I had to shoot some wd-40 into the console lock to get it open and found this card and the key to the console.

So,from your neighbor. It is a one owner car that has not been on the road since 1973. The good part is it's a one owner 54k mile, original paint (rough) survivor with the original 383 & you can't resist it?...humm
1964/383? No smell better in the world, except maybe for pussy.

I do have a name for her............

Welcome from Iowa. Let's start Monday !!

Sweet find. Enjoy it.

That's probably how my Coronet will look when I'm too old to work on it or drive it anymore.

Welcome, and great find! You didn't have to go very far to get it!

Looks like the paint is black?

My first mopar was a '64 Polara 500, black with black interior, 383. Loved that car!

Thanks again guys. I wont be naming her Christine for sure. I did cut my ankle yesterday, not working on it but doing plumbing. Heres a pic of the title. Kinda weirdView attachment 355192 it has the number 442 in it.

I found the convert boot. It had shrunk about 6". I laid it out in the sun, oiled it up good and it stretched back out again. I've been trying to buy this thing for the past 20 years. The owners have fallen into poor health and decided they should let it go. I went down to their yard sale to purchase a fake palm tree for my wife. Just before leaving I asked about the car (again) and to my surprise she said she would sell it. Good thing i had just sold my boat, lol.
