My New Ride.

Would calling it a Tribute car be a better name for cloning? I have no problem with either. I like the Roadrunner trim better than the Sati trim anyway. Good luck with the project! Post lots of pics!

Runner 68: Once again you've proven yourself to be an insecure big mouth trying to sound tough while hiding behind a computer. My generation ? If you said that to someone my age in person, you'd wake up in the street. No, it's the new computer generation that has allowed insecure twits like you feel like a real man.
NOW... lets get back to muscle cars.

Who's the keyboard tough guy Rock? You just threatened me. I really must have hit a nerve plus I pegged you without even really knowing you.

Trust me, I'm 53, spent 12 years in the Corps and am probably in twice the shape of 90% of the "sit on your *** in momma's basement computer generation". I have forgotten more than you know son. Who's generation do you think developed the technology that you now enjoy? It sure in the hell wasn't yours.

I just sent you a PM with my contact info.
Bring friends and weapons. I'll be here.

Welcome Burns, do what you like, it's your car. I hope you start a resto thread and share the progress of your vision, sounds like you have a plan and a good one at that.
There are plenty of clones on this site, Sattys are cool but Runners rock.

I think someone will be getting a long vacation. Ron

Build it the way you want.I've owned 5 rr's and am not afraid to do whatever I want.Their are countless restored ones. Now my brother kept asking me why not a satellite and save some money .Well...cause it's not the same.A runner is a runner and a sat. is a sat.Just be sure to identify when asked.A little bit of ego,the lower classed car has more prestige, strange.Does any of that make sense?

My only problem with cloning a satellite into an RR/GTX is the cost of doing it right. Ive seen some great GTX clones that look fantastic but the cost of correct interior trim, rallye dash, and grill just to name a few is really high, so much so you might as well look for the real thing. If you are on a budget then building a nice correct 70 satellite is a solid option. Think about it...go to carlisle and see how many 1970 restored or survivor satellites there are. Very few. The satellite will stand out nicely.

The other thing to think about is who is viewing the car. Most brand x fans/general car fans dont know what a gtx or roadrunner is. The ones who do know will be able to tell most clones from a mile away, and everyone has their peeves. Mine is usually the satellite dash being used in an RR clone.

Just things to think about. I like any 70 B, clone or whatever.

i have a satellite we just call it superbird now or birdible

OK Runner, just to be clear I think Burns should do what he wants with his car. I can't say I've never thought of putting RR stuff on a Sat but it's only because it looks or performs better. As far as the 69 RR that looks like it was dropped on a 4WD chassis. I think it looks like an abortion but if that's what the owner wanted to do it, more power to him. Why do you think I'd want to put an extra layer of tint on it? So no one would know it's me behind the wheel. That said, the car does look clean, no rust, what looks like a quality paint job. Sure I'd love to have it. Love most cars. I just didn't say what I'd pay for it.

As for Dako and 70Mopars, you guys are f@cked up. That car is the death of a 69 RR....on wheels. Must be Redneck Millennials.
