So some may remember posting over the years of my sons Mustang project. It took a few years as we started when he was 14. He just turned 20 and wanted to start something with his vision and we found this car today. He is very excited and I am happy that we will be working a another car together!!!!!

A '61! I used to draw those in high school all the time. At one time I thought I would get one...when they were 15 years old you could pick up several out of the want ads for $300 each.

It's one of the first cars I remember liking as a kid. That and an XKE. I guess I was about 5 years old.

Cool t bird I always did like them
I had a newer one 68-69 for about 3 hours. Had a 429 in it got it for a few $100 eason way home when I was flagged down guy said $3000 if I delivered it 10 mins up road !
Yeah it didn't make it home

It’s great to see kids coming in to the hobby, it also gives them a lot of experiences other kids won’t get and gives them an edge in life regarding money and mechanical things too.. thumbs up even if it’s not a mopar! Save them all while we can Chuck Shummer will get them otherwise.

I like them. Great lines to work with.
Like the old Rivieras from 63/64 .
If your into customs those old birds are a great start.

Dam Jim, I forgot all about you, you're such a stranger around here. How's the bee runnin? Nice project, stay safe!

The Bee is running good but I need to rebuild the brakes and read end as there is a weird noise coming and going. Unfortunately I always let the Bee take the back seat for other things in life plus the 70 plus hours a week at work leave little time for fun things but we all do our best. I do buy parts that never get put on. My son also wants to work on the Bee but most tasks will take days to do so it is hard to get motivated. Plan is to take a week off work and get some Parts put on and drive it at least once a week to work!!!!!!!

Raising a gearhead

Cool old Bullet T-Bird

good luck

Always loved that year and styling of the T-Bord...those tail lights are what really do it for me! Congrats on your sons new purchase...what is his vision for the car?

We have figured out today that this is a numbers matching car. He wants to do a black and white interior and a black with purple pearl paint. He plans on rebuilding everything else stock.

Decoded the Vin and found out this is a 1961 not a 1963 as we were told. Makes no difference to us as now we know what year to buy parts!!!!

Nice to see you and your son working together, you're lucky! I put a 65 t bird interior in a g body Chevy with a 60 Chevy dash. I like t birds. Good luck!!

I knew the trim was for a '61. Pretty much the same body for those three years anyway. I preferred the '62 trim (the three cast emblems at the rear) and the sports roadster package that made it back into a two seater. Elvis had one of these. Those Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels were part of the package...one of the reasons that this car cost $5,439 before any other options were added to it.
