i have a 73 Dodge 318 and im replacing carb (2 bbl Carter). Should the fuel line that connects to carb have some kind of washer on it? For some reason new carb is leaking fuel from point of connection...

No, not the fuel line. The fitting on the line is 5/16 male inverted flare. The fitting on the carburetor is 5/16 female inverted flare. The flares, when tightened down, creat a leak proof seal. Now, where the female inverted flare fitting screws into the carburetor requires a sealing washer. If there's not one there, it willl leak like all hell.
