Looking for some help from the a/c guru's. My 1972 RR a/c compressor has finally died (RV2 type). Would it be better to replace it with same type and stay with R12 or up grade to the newer Sanden 508 R134a system . Not worried about cost, looking for best performance for my 440.

I'm also currently looking for options to replace my A/C system on my 72 SSP. Currently leaning towards the upgrade with the Sanden R134 system. I like the idea of the original look but I'm missing a few parts. Also, to rebuild and convert the original systems over to R134 can be costly for those on a budget.

Get the compressor and bracket conversion kit from Bouchillon Performance. Technically any lines having rubber hoses would need to be replaced with R134 compatible versions. May require having some lines custom made for a close to factory appearance. Remaining original components will need through flushing.

Pretty good price on the compressor and brackets from Bouchillon. Making your own custom hoses is pretty easy with the bubble crimper. The hose and hose ends are not very expensive. The crimper tool can be bought off Amazon (or E-Bay) for around $150 new. Look up Mastercool #71550.
