I'm looking for a cast transmission pan for the 727 in my 69 Road Runner. I've already serviced the trans and went back together with the steel pan (after straightened and leveled of course) and a new fancy Mopar reusable gasket but it still continues to seep along the front lip. I've re-torqued but have lost patience with it so I'm ready for a good pan. Biggest issue is, I don't want one that's real deep and hangs low. I have a B&M 4qt pan I use to run on my trucks, but it hangs really low(approx 4" deep) and this would probably make me nervous. I'm looking at the TCI # 128000 2qt pan, does anyone have it? I can't find a measurement on it. Thanks!

had the same problem. are you sure its not the valve body sector shaft seal? or i once put the dipstick tube into place with the pan off and it was sticking too far down past the case causing the pan not to seal to the case. just a thought.

Pretty much every 727 I have had leaks a little some where! Lol. I have a 727 in 4 different cars, 3 leak a little 4 sure. Not sure yet on the 4th. Have replaced seals, O rings on dip stick tube, shaft seals, pan gaskets, seems to be a constant annoyance. Anyone have one that doesn't leak?

Lol, maybe I'm being too picky then. Previous owner told me it was just a pan leak and one bolt had been over tightened/stripped so a nut installed. Once I got it up on stands I found the main leak was from the shift shaft. So I removed the valve body and installed new shift and throttle shaft seals. Dipstick tube was dry but out of better judgement I went ahead and replaced it. All of those are dry now. Cleaned up pan and it was remarkably strait but put it on a flat surface to make sure and did a little surfacing to get it perfect. Went with the fancy Mopar hard plastic pan gasket that had the rubber seals molded in. Heli-coiled the damages holes and went back together with it . Torqued to 130 in lbs. front edge continued to seep just a little. Torqued to 140.....same. Got ticked off and torqued to 150 the other nite. All is dry but that front lip, pretty aggravating. Really would LOVE to dry up the transmission totally now. Next step is to try a cast pan, just don't want it dragging the asphalt!
