I was looking into converting mine as well since I have to reupholster anyway. Decided to stick with the bench seat and just change from a column shift to a floor shift. Only thing I had to make sure of was depending on what type of shifter I wanted to install determined if I have to buy a rear mount conversion or a mid mount. That took some time. Still have not made up my mind what I want yet.
