Thank you very much! Scouts are great bikes, did your Dad give you a ride on it? They couldn’t give Indians away back in the day. Scouts fetch big money these days.
My mom was pretty strict & she wouldn't let me ride, "yet" she said; 'I was too young'
but he did take me a couple times, it only had the 1 sprung seat, no buddy seat
he'd put me in front of him, sort of over the base of the tank...
I was a Taco 22 & later a 44 minibike kid, I loved motorcycles,
I had a crapload, more dirtbike craze, Nighthawk & V4 VMax later in life...
He also had a few hot rods, he'd take me on rides, or to the races...
(starting at 8 y/o)
He was always working on something,
usually for my cousin Joe he was a bike/trike freak...
He drag raced all up & down the west coast, we still had 27 tracks here...
NHRA SS/G & H class 64 GTO 1st,
& a bunch of other Pontiacs/GTOs-Judges 70 & 71
& gen 1 Firebirds 67-68 400 Ram Air II & III until 1973
(I started racing in 1975/at 16 y/o, he 'sort of' helped me get started)
I loved his 35 Ford PU killer bonze paint, with a 401 Buick/Dana 60 & T10,
53 F100 hopped up 352 w/428 heads, 2x4bbl intake exhaust,
it was fast, street racer...
He'd go out later nights Fri- or Sat. out to Willow Pass rd. it was a hot spot for decades...
He knew I liked going fast & him doing burnouts or street racing...
before we'd go or get close to home, he'd always say;
'Don't tell your Mom', (& I never did)
I loved anything with an engine as a kid...
