New b body owner

hello just purchased a 69 r/r 383 4spd backet case
I have been watch for the sale forum for last year or so
but too far away to inspect most cars on forum
I live in vancouver canada about 18 mile north
of border and interstat 5
I have inspected maybe 10 to 12 cars up here
all were rust buckets and sister of rust buckets
but this one all it needs is lower quarters and rockers repaired from
rear wheel to doors both sides and two groups of small holes and
one large (silver dollar/toonie) sized hole in trunk
otherwise rust free so far
just pushed into garage still awaiting rest of parts
hopefully most of int eng block(not matching) trans glass less windshield
grille bumpers etc
post car (hard tops a little sexier)
hemi orange mostly orginal I think
by far the closest to me was only 4 miles away
also possible its been off road since 1981
in barn for over 20 years and in storage for last onwer 5 plus years
hence not much rust and fairly original and complete
may restore to OEM for slight resto mod
IE ps pb disks susp buckets gauges r/s mirror
just smaller stuff nothing to heavy
est 4-7 years (first restoration attempted)

new to site
and I have lots of questions
two to start and million more coming



1) what the best manual for repair or restoration?
prefer print not on computor and complete parts list or
guide. I dont know what missing yet.



2) decode fender tag?

welcome.sounds like you got a good deal.there is a book out in print called ROADRUNNER,CHARGER,SUPER BEE restoration guide.i pick up mine at my local book store(barnes and noble).good luck.

Welcome!! as far as a guide, you need to get a factory service manual you can buy them on Ebay on CD or regular manual I paid $40.00 for mine for my Charger and It has everything you need! There are a couple fender tag decoders just do a search. Good luck on your project.

cool thanks for your help. I will try to locate as many books/manuals as I can before the work begins. Right now still waiting of rest of parts. Hopefully tues or weds next week.

another silly question
other then the post itself and rear glass is there much if any difference
between hardtop and post car??

don't which wheel I want to use yet
would originals be on build sheet.
mine has 3 steel and 4 slots (70 style thin front fat rear)
odd oval holes for lugs with washer type insert very different
form new stuff,
Is all the red trim on your hemi car OEM???
looks great against the black car.
