I have a bad right knee. Is the console essentially the same in all the Dodge Challengers? I'm not talking about the top. I'm talking about the side where the gas pedal is.

I have been looking at these cars now for a while and pedal position is really important to me. In my Dodge Caravan there is an acre of room around the pedal.

I am wondering if anyone on this forum knows if there is any meaningful variation from year to year and model to model.

Thanks.

Dave

They changed the interior at some point. (i think 2015)

I rented a 2017 SRT Hellcat Challenger together with a friend.
I actually had noticable low right knee room BUT my friend did not have that issue. So i guess it would be a good idea to try it out prior to purchase.

I think it not only depends on your size but also seat position because we are not to far apart in size but like different seat positions.

That said if i'd be shopping for a recent car the challenger would be second to none.
If it works out with your knee i think you cant go wrong. Especially with the higher trim level ones.
I cant comment on the ones with the old interior, though. I think they also still had the 6 speed auto vs. 8 speed in the new ones.

Thanks for your replies. Looks really tight. I'm going to see if I can rent one for a few days to see if I can live with it.

My right knee if fawked right now as well.. I just drove her car over to the dealership so I could retrieve my truck from service. Didn't seem to be an issue for me.. lots of carpet to rest your knee against, but definitely give it a go. I'm actually finding that driving the Bee is wrecking my knee more than her car, as with the Bee there is no leaning "post"!

Just in case you want to know more about the different trim levels.
This guy reviewed basically all of them. Starting with the SXT all the way up to the redeye widebody.

I'd personally go at least SRT widebody. :D

Here another forum dedicated to the new cars. (Might also helpful)
