Hey, new to the website, just thought I would see whats up.

I run an auto repair shop and currently working on a few different projects.

My first one is a 1964 polara, started out as a 318 wide block push button. Now it has a 1973 360 with a set of 71 X heads. Bored .040 over with a 1964 4-speed tranny, 1970 pistol grip all in front of a 3:23 sure grip in a 1968 8 3/4 housing.

also have a 1964 fury that my grandpa bought brand new. 98k original miles... if only it wasnt a 4-door.

projects for later, 1968 satellite sport wagon and a 1956 dodge d100 stepside.

Hopefully i can get some pics up.... also the wagon is for sale at this time.

Any ideas and or info on parts location and or what some good ideas would be, im always open to suggestions and constantly changing my plans.... arent we all?

Welcome aboard.. Theres a parts wanted thread right here you might try for what your looking for.. Pics would be great!

welcome to FBBO

Welcome....interesting projects, keep us updated!

Hows that 64 4 speed working out for you?
Doesn't it have the old style NON-U Joint drive shaft coupler? Wondered how you fit that to a later model 8 3/4 rear? That would have a U-Joint..

When I got the car it was complete minus the motor, still had the push button tranny with a new driveshaft made from a local shop. I kept the driveline which utilzes a slipyoke similiar to a truck driveshaft. It bolts directly to the rear of the tranny and uses the same u-joint as before. the car had an 8 3/4 in it but it was the old style with the tapered shafts. Worked out pretty easy once I had a few inches taken out. I used a set of wideblock motor mounts (slightly modified) and put the 360 with an 11in clutch in the car. Modified the tranny crossmember becuase the automatic and 3-speed ones are different from the 4-speed ones. Didnt want to pay out the nose for one that someone else modified or an original one. Everything fit very nicely, used a set of small block hedders out of my old 68 barracuda and a V8 radiator from a 72 318 dart I parted out that bolted directly in place. Found a console pistol grip shifter and traded some parts for it, so I then could swap my dad for his non-console pistol grip because he was putting a console in his 70 RR. It does not hit the dash like everyone told me it would. I purchased a center floor hump and it fit directly in place and the shifter doesnt hit and came up slightly forward from center, which seems to be correct in everyone elses early b-body's as well....

Next is interior, (black) and after that is paint, most likely a vibrant orange. It is a work in progress that is also drivin while it is worked on. I screwed up and cut down that money tree in the back yard to put in a deck and now I have to do one thing at a time.
