Hello Everyone.

This car has been in my family since early 90s, I just started researching it and buying some parts to make some repairs. I was really surprised to learn that it was a special order paint code and most likely Omaha Orange.

I have learned a bunch of great info from the interweb already. I had a post going on another website (not sure the rules, so I won't mention which one). Found this site and seems like a great resource.

The car is pretty well modified so my current plan is to fix mechanical issues and then get her back out on the road.

current issues
needs battery, torsion bars, shocks, minor odds & ends
brakes dont work
gauges dont work
steering is ok -

Would love to hear from other RR owners, espcially any 68 or 999 paint people.

Welcome. Check under the carpet, dash, etc for evidence of the original paint. Being a "999" it could be any color imaginable

I participated quite a bit regarding this ar over on Moparts recently.
Welcome.

Hey fellow `68 Road Runner fan, I saw the Moparts thread and thoroughly enjoyed it, nice car!. You may have seen the "JUNKYARD DOG" threads over there too, lots of great info to be had on these sites, I have learned alot.

Thanks all.
I got some great info from moparts and hope to get even more here.

Matt I have seen your ride. You are definitely one of those people who are much more skilled than I am. I am a below average mechanic at best lol. A man has to know his limitations.

I am undecided whether to keep "restomodding" the car or start restoring it.
I have alwasy been more into mods, but seeing some of the restored cars on these sites that are freaking amazing has me wondering. The other Omaha Orange 68 runner that they posted pics of was awesome.

I think the solution is that I need 2 68 road runners !

Can't wait to try to swing that one by the wife.

I have removed the back seats and some of the carpet and it definitely appears to be original orange car. When I get a replacement headliner, I will pull apart the interior further.

A man after my own heart:rolling:that is definitely what you need!.
If it were me, I would go for a faithful resto on that one. You don't see to many `68's around any more, especially rare ones like yours.
Thanks for the praise, this is my first restoration so I am just doing what I need to do to replace the rusty parts with not rusty parts!
