New guy from Iowa: 68 Satellite

Hello from central Iowa! Love the slots!!!! Keep me on your list if you need anything.

I want to go to a 15" rim front (7") and rear (8") and the wife likes the 'shiny' torque thrust style, so we'll probably go that route. Eventually i'll do a disc brake conversion up front (maybe rear??) and i've heard 14" rims can be a little tight. Let me know if you want to buy these. I'll give you the Iowa discount

Just broke the little orange 'tang' on the 3 speed column shifter that indicates which gear (PRND12) you're in. Saw on here that some guys have extra laying around. Anyone know where to get/buy one?

Not 100% sure, but, I always thought the chrome trim you spoke of was a Satellite option. My 68 Sport Satellite does not have it.

Thanks...I'm sure I'll be picking your brain. I ordered the factory service manual the same day I bought the car. If you look at my Satellite pics, you can see the chrome trim across the top of the fenders/doors/quarters. Is that the sport satellite trim? I know the car wasn't originally a sport satellite. Also the front fenders/hood/grill are from a 69.

If I'm not mistaken, the trim on top of the fenders and door is Satellite. The Sport Satellite does not have that trim. I can't tell from your pics if you have the 68-or 69 headlight bezels. If it is important to you, they and the grills will interchange ( at least they will on 1968) The 1968 Sport Satellite uses a GTX plastic grille. You can not put 1969 headlight bezels on a 1968 regular Satellite or roadrunner grill. Clear as mud? ............................MO.
