Welcome aboard from NJ. Best of luck with your new toy!

Welcome! I’m in Queen Creek AZ. I’ve never owned anything original and won’t be a good resource. What part of the valley are you located?

I'm in Queen Creek too. I've seen your car at cars & coffee at Dunkin' on Saturdays, I usually bring my blue patina '66 Mustang GT fastback.

Welcome to the site :welcome:nice ride!
The very first thing I see that’s not correct is the distributor and the ignition coil.
Also the throttle return spring bracket for the front carb is the one for the rear carb can’t see the bracket for the rear carb with the air cleaner in place. And the factory ignition wire looms are missing. I’m not picking your ride apart but you asked for some guidance:lol:

No problem, I asked. I was aware of the distributor and coil, I think the dizzy is in the trunk, along with the alternator and starter, not sure about the coil. If it's not there I'll be looking for one. Nice catch on the return spring bracket(s), I wouldn't have known. I'll make a list of parts I have and what I need when the car gets here, plug wires, hoses and clamps, etc. etc.
I'm curious about the relay on the fender to the rear of the battery, it looks funky to me.
Thanks!

Oh boy

cat is out of the bag now.

Welcome aboard Norm.

You've seen mine , and its NOT 100% dead nuts correct but its close and in the garage so anything you need , just ask

But I have since corrected a few things since you saw the car . My goal is make it close to correct but not so much im afraid to drive it.
And I drive it,,,,A LOT

FYI, the battery cables, radiator cap are incorrect. And mine was originally a manual steering car and has been converted, but they used a Saginaw pump. Hemis used the Federal pump

ps, the return spring bracket i see is the middle one.
should be a short one on the front end

Thanks man, couldn't wait any longer, STILL waiting on the car. Long story...
Thanks for the shot of the shackles, mine aren't like that. Does anyone know if you can tell originals from repro's- part numbers, stamping marks, other clues?

Spring shackles are not hard to find. Even nos.

No markings on them of any kind that im aware of

The relay is a '66 Hemi only piece - not easy to find. Welcome aboard - looking forward to seeing more pics! Seems like a lot of '66 Hemi Satellites popping up on here lately. Maybe we need our own forum. :D

Nice car good luck with it

welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

I'm on the other side of the world from you, north Glendale
Yeah, it's a big town. I'm looking for local hemi restoration/show car experts as I said in my post. Planning to go to GoodGuys in November if all goes well. Thanks for the reply!

Welcome aboard! Your excitement is totally understandable -- it looks like a fine ride already!

I probably can't help much with parts sourcing but can help you recreate those factory finishes when you do find them. (The shop is in Tennessee though so if any of those scores are off the internet, direct shipping from the seller will save you a leg on the transport cost.)

Make yourself at home and keep us posted on what you do with it.

Just bought a 66 4-speed Hemi Satellite, it should be here in a couple of weeks, and I can't wait to get my freaking hands on it.
Looking for hemi/ show car experts in AZ for guidance in getting my car as correct as possible. I'm aware there's a Mopar club here in the Phoenix area and I'll get with them.
For starters I need a set of original black wrinkle finish valve covers. Car has older chrome DC valve covers which I'll sell when I get a correct pair.
Second, the car has leaf spring shackles with multiple holes for adjustment. They don't look original to me, and if not I need originals. Do they have visible part numbers, stamping marks etc?
Third, what is the original finish on the Dana rear? Mine is dirty and looks to be painted Orange.
Looking forward to cleaning some parts and smoking some tires.View attachment 1145471

I just glanced thru the posts, if u still have the flat tappet hemi grind cam , ''KEEP THE VALVES SET" , THEY WERE PRETTY BAD ABOUT NEEDING CONSTANT CARE ,
Had 2 of them -------
