Because you made it.
If you refresh the page or click on New Posts, it will vanish from view.

Because you've already seen it.

"New posts" filters out posts you haven't seen, organized by most recent first.
They are "new" to you, only.

"Recent posts" only organizes by most recent, hence the name.
