i purchase an American made , turn signal cancel switch for my 68 gtx , and when I went to replace it, it does not come with the connector at the bottom of the column, so swapped over old connector , but my issue is , the wire colours of the new switch don't match the old switch, so going colour to colour doesn't work, tried looking into switches to see where which colour went and switches are made different, so much for it being an exact reproduction of the original piece.., I made a map of where each wire went before I took it apart, and guessed my best but now I have front left turn with rear right turn, and vise versa and no brake lights.. does anyone have a wiring diagram of the car side of these wires ? and there were no new instructions with the repro switch... help? anyone?

Several years ago I changed one in a 69 Road Runner and it was an exact duplicate. Last year I put one in my 69 Charger and ran into the same deal as you have. A guy would think that they could keep the colors the same, but I guess that would be to easy. I wrote down the differences - hope this helps.

Try mymopar.com for the service manual with wiring diagram for your car.

hunt2elk to the rescue... You just saved him lots of time and headaches. Good going.

BTW, slant6dan on this and the FABO forum has good switches with the correct wire colors and at a better price if any of you need a new one.

Same thing is happening to me with my 67. Brake pedal activates r/front turn signal instead of r/r brake lite. Think we bought our "junk" from the same guy?
